Now it's even easier to work with flat strips of dichroic Effetre glass and add colorful sparkle to your beads! Fully compatible with other COE 104 glass. Pixie Dust, Individual Colors

Use pixie dust to create a Sparkle, Pearl (Hi-Lite) Or the Fabulous New Glitter luster color inside a bead or on its surface. To use, place powder on a marvering pad or in a small metal bowl. Heat the bead very hot and dip it into or roll it over the powder. Put the bead back into the flame to ensure that the powder is fully fused to the glass. When pixie dust powders are on the surface of the bead, they will cover the base glass and change the look. Darker colored glass will intensify the look. When the powder is covered with a transparent glass, the density of the powder spreads out and the base color of glass is revealed. The use of a dust mask and ventilation is highly recommended. Glow Dust

Glow Dust is a silica-based powder which, when worked with glass, makes a finished piece of Art Glass Glow in the Dark. Non-Toxic, Non Radioactive, Non Carcinogenic, our product is available here to purchase in four different colors. This powder is the first Glow in the Dark material successfully tested in every glass C.O.E.
Try rolling the hot bead in the powder and then gently swirl the powder with a hot rod to blend it when casing the bead. Or make a stringer by blending and mixing the powder well with two hot rods & then pull a stringer as usual. The stringer can be used to add decoration to your bead.
The glow dust needs to be "charged", preferably with daylight. The amount of glow time is determined by how long the glass was charged. Can hold a charge for 2- 5 hrs. with proper charging. Available in 5 gram packages in Green, Aqua, Light Blue and Dark Blue for $7.95 each, Regular Price.

Pyrex Glass Rod, Clear

Since Pyrex is hard glass, it will not melt as quickly as Effetre and for that reason, many people like to use it as a punty when pulling (soft glass) cased stringer, millifiori or murrini bundles or complex latticino. For another type of punty, see Chopsticks.

Pyrex can also be used to "load" (hold) small amounts of fine silver, gold foil or 24K gold wire for fuming.

Choose between 5mm & 8mm, you will get two rods.

Average Length: 12 inches for 5 mm, 16" for 8 mm.
Average Weight for two pieces: 5 mm =1 oz. - 8 mm =3.5 oz.
